Plumeri brings decades of experience in financial services and insurance. His appointment reflects IAP\u2019s intent to strengthen its leadership team and broaden its reach as it competes with larger investment banks and advisory firms in the insurance sector.<\/p>\n
While serving as Chairman and CEO of Willis Group Holdings, Plumeri led initiatives that contributed to improved shareholder returns for both KKR and public investors.<\/p>\n
During that period, Tony Ursano, now Managing Partner and Co-Founder of IAP, joined Willis from Bank of America to help launch Willis Capital Markets & Advisory and oversee corporate development and strategy.<\/p>\n
Earlier in his career, Plumeri served as CEO of Citibank North America, during which time the division reported an earnings increase of nearly 400% over two years.<\/p>\n He has held a range of senior positions, including Chairman and CEO of Primerica, Vice Chairman at Travelers, President of Smith Barney, and Managing Partner of Shearson Lehman Brothers. He began his career at Carter, Berlind & Weill, which later became part of Citigroup.<\/p>\n Outside of his corporate roles, Plumeri has been involved in various philanthropic activities and public speaking. In 2006, he was named Insurance Leader of the Year by St. John\u2019s University School of Risk Management.
