Joining him on the Board of Continental Reinsurance Holdings are Paul Kokoricha, former Chairman of Continental Reinsurance Plc, who has been appointed Chairman of the Board at Group level.<\/p>\n
Steve Iwenjora, formerly a Non-Executive Director at Continental Reinsurance Plc, is also joining the company\u2019s Board as Non-Executive Director at Group level.<\/p>\n
Kokoricha said: \u201cIt has been an honour to serve as Chairman of Continental Reinsurance Plc, Nigeria, where we achieved significant milestones in growth and governance. As we now pivot to a consolidated Group structure, I am excited to continue supporting the company at this higher level – working with the leadership team to sustain our pan-African momentum and long-term ambition.\u201d<\/p>\n Continental Reinsurance Group also announced the appointment of Dr. Fatai Kayode Lawal ad Managing Director\/CEO of Continental Reinsurance Plc, Nigeria, effective April 2025.<\/p>\n Kayode Lawal is taking over the role from Nazare, who completed his tenure in this position in December 2024.<\/p>\n Kayode Lawal brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having most recently served as Managing Director\/Chief Executive of Sterling Assurance Nigeria Ltd. from January 2007 to December 2023.<\/p>\n During this time, he successfully integrated three merging companies and significantly grew sales. Prior to this, he served as the Managing Director\/Chief Executive Officer of Universe Reinsurance Co. Limited, where he improved profitability and expanded markets.<\/p>\n His earlier career also includes a leadership role at Refuge Insurance Company Limited and a management role at Continental Reinsurance Co. Ltd.<\/p>\n The Nigeria entity is also strengthening its Board, welcoming three new Non-Executive Directors, whose appointments have received regulatory clearance from the National Insurance Commission.<\/p>\n Segun Adebanji, a veteran finance professional, has been named Chairman of the Board, Non-Executive Director. Funmilayo Omokhodion, a Chartered Insurer with 36 years of experience in reinsurance, is joining the Board as Non-Executive Director, and Eno Atoyeb, an executive with 25 years in investment management, also joins as Non-Executive Director.<\/p>\n \u201cThese appointments coincide with Continental Re\u2019s 40th anniversary, a milestone that reflects the Group\u2019s enduring legacy, resilience, and readiness for the future.
