Camara joined Swiss Re in 2005 and has since worked in functions across the firm, including Group Finance, Group Risk Management and Life & Health Business Management.<\/p>\nLeopoldo Camara has been appointed Head of Property & Casualty Reinsurance for Swiss Re’s business in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe (NCEE) and Country President Germany, effective 1 August 2024.<\/p>\n
Camara joined Swiss Re in 2005 and has since worked in functions across the firm, including Group Finance, Group Risk Management and Life & Health Business Management.<\/p>\n
In 2016, he joined the Globals Division, which services Swiss Re’s largest reinsurance clients, as Key Account Manager for Germany and Spain.<\/p>\n
Most recently, Camara held the position of Head of Globals Europe.<\/p>\n
In addition to his new role, Camara will reportedly continue with direct client management responsibility, serving as Swiss Re’s Head Globals for NCEE. He will be based in Munich.<\/p>\n
Before joining Swiss Re, he worked for the Gerling-Konzern in Germany, the Mexican Insurance Regulator, and for Zurich Insurance and Converium in Switzerland.<\/p>\n
Swiss Re’s CEO of Property & Casualty Reinsurance Urs Baertschi commented on the appointment, “Our appointment of Leopoldo Camara brings together the best of both worlds.
