Coalition Re launches Helios platform to improve cyber risk monitoring

Coalition, known as the first Active Insurance provider focused on digital risk prevention, has introduced Coalition Re’s Helios platform.

This new tool allows cedants of Coalition Re to track their cyber risk exposures in real time and manage their portfolios with updated data.

Existing cedants can use the platform now at no extra cost, while new users will have access starting July 1, 2025.

“Real-time data insights are crucial to managing a portfolio of cyber risks,” commented Shawn Ram, Coalition’s Chief Revenue Officer.

“With Coalition Re’s interactive Helios platform, we are setting the standard for data collection and information processing as the cyber market matures. The new Helios platform enables cedants to gain visibility into their own systemic risk, aggregation, and catastrophe load, as well as gather meaningful context around why these risks matter and what to do about them.”

Previously, cedants received this information only through summary documents. The Helios platform now offers a self-service interface, providing continuous access to data. It uses Coalition’s internet-wide data collection, proprietary modelling, and analytics to support risk management decisions.

Cedants can review catastrophe risk exposures and loss trends to identify cyber risk concentrations related to widely used technologies and vendors. The platform also provides customised reports and aggregated portfolio views to assist in underwriting and risk management.

“The reinsurance industry must play a more proactive role in risk mitigation,” added Ram. “While capital is important, tools that provide real-time data can help insurers manage portfolio risk more effectively by identifying systemic vulnerabilities and trends before losses occur.”

Coalition Re offers capacity for non-proportional cyber reinsurance treaties and a white-labeled cyber insurance product with up to 100% quota share support for cedants who want to offer cyber coverage as an endorsement to existing policies. Both products are available globally and supported by a panel of capacity providers led by Aspen.
