Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Pierre-Edouard Fraigneau as the President, Europe, effective September 1st, 2025.
In his new role, Fraigneau succeeds incumbent President Kadidja Sinz and will continue to work closely with her until her retirement at the end of 2025.
Currently, Fraigneau is the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of LSM Europe and Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe, a role he has held since joining the firm in 2020.
He was closely involved in developing Liberty’s Invest in Europe 2030 strategy, and now, as the President of the region, he will be responsible for driving its delivery.
Fraigneau has over two decades of industry experience. Before Liberty, he served at Sanlam. He started his career at AIG, spending 12 years with the insurer, latterly as Deputy General Manager of North and West Africa.
This experience across the African, European and Middle Eastern markets positions Fraigneau well to take on his new role.
Liberty in Europe has grown significantly since establishing a presence in the region, driven by a consistent focus on underwriting quality and claims service, with twelve offices in seven countries, and plans to establish more.
Phil Hobbs, President, Liberty International Insurance, commented, “Pierre-Edouard is fantastically well placed to lead our European business and deliver the 2030 strategy, which he was instrumental in creating.
“His appointment is richly deserved, and I am extremely pleased this key role is going to an exceptional internal talent.”
