Aviva and hx expand partnership to advance AI in London Market pricing

Building on their existing partnership, Aviva is set to lead hyperexponential’s (hx) AI beta programme, spearheading the exploration of the newly launched Actuarial Agent within hx Renew.

aviva-logoThe Actuarial Agent will reportedly support a range of targeted use cases designed to augment the expertise of Aviva’s underwriters and brokers, such as enhancing pricing tools with new insights and optimising existing model code.

“Over the next six months, Aviva’s commercial underwriting office will work closely with hx to test and explore how this AI-driven tool can increase pricing sophistication, streamline workflows and unlock new opportunities in digital underwriting, maximising benefits for its Global, Corporate & Specialty (GCS) clients and brokers,” hx explained.

The two firms anticipate the insights from this collaboration to help guide the ongoing development of AI within hx Renew, supporting the continuous evolution of tools like the Actuarial Agent and Data Ingestion Library.

Aviva currently operates 23 live models in hx Renew across a broad range of commercial lines and was the first company to directly integrate the platform with the underwriting portal Touchstone, demonstrating its flexibility and interoperability.

“By leveraging hx Renew AI – including the new Actuarial Agent – and a suite of other AI-powered tools, we’ll be evaluating how artificial intelligence can augment the expertise of our underwriters and brokers.

“This includes enhancing pricing precision, optimising workflows, and supporting smarter, faster decision-making across our GCS portfolio and beyond.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with hx to help shape the future of intelligent underwriting and support Aviva’s ambitions in London Market pricing innovation – ultimately delivering even greater value for our clients and brokers.”

Amrit Santhirasenan, CEO and Co-founder of hyperexponential, said, “It’s hugely meaningful to have such engaged market leaders like Aviva as part of our AI program.
