Daws appointed Hamilton Re CEO, Baker to lead Global Specialty as Duffin named Group CUO



Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance company, Hamilton Insurance Group, has today announced that Adrian Daws will succeed Megan Graves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hamilton Re, with Alex Baker taking over from Daws as CEO of Hamilton Global Specialty.

Tim Duffin Alex Baker Adrian Daws HamiltonThe appointments of Daws and Baker remain subject to requisite regulatory approvals, and with Daws’ new role being based in Bermuda, his appointment is also subject to immigration approval.

Hamilton has also announced the appointment of Tim Duffin to the newly created role of Group Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), a Bermuda based role, subject to requisite regulatory approval, effective January 1st, 2026.

Daws, Baker, and Duffin will all be part of the Executive Management team at Hamilton, reporting to Pina Albo, Group Chief Executive Officer.

Daws, who has more than 25 years of industry experience, joined Hamilton in 2015 as Head of Specialty and Deputy Active Underwriter before transitioning to Active Underwriter of Hamilton’s Lloyd’s syndicate in 2018, later being named CEO of Hamilton Global Specialty in 2020.

He takes over as CEO from Graves, who held the role since 2020, but has decided to step down from the firm at the end of this year.

“Megan’s decision to retire follows an impressive five years with the Company, which has included strategically growing Hamilton Re into a highly profitable and diversified insurance and reinsurance platform, establishing a strong key client relationship strategy and leveraging our A.M. Best ‘A’ rating. During her tenure, Megan also built a formidable team of talented professionals who will continue to serve Hamilton and its clients. We thank Megan for her many contributions to Hamilton and wish her a healthy and happy retirement,” said Albo.

Baker also has 25 years of industry experience and has been with Hamilton since 2016, serving as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary at Hamilton Global Specialty before being promoted to Group Chief Risk Officer in 2022. He will be based in London in his new role.

Duffin brings more than 25 years to his new role. He joined Hamilton as Senior Vice President Property in 2012, and was named CUO of Hamilton Re in 2017.
