Protecdiv, an insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm, has announced the immediate appointment of Sandra Thompson, former Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, as an Independent Director on its Board.
With many years of experience in financial services, regulatory oversight, and corporate governance, Thompson joins Protecdiv as the company continues its growth and development.
Thompson’s career includes leadership roles in both public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), where she was involved in housing finance policy and regulatory matters.
Before that, she was Deputy Director at FHFA for several years, focusing on financial and regulatory supervision.
Prior to joining FHFA, Thompson was a Director at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she led bank examination and supervision efforts throughout the Great Financial Crisis.
Currently, she serves on the Board of BECU, contributing her knowledge to help the financial cooperative address ongoing challenges in the industry.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sandra to our Board of Directors,” said Kael Coleman, Chief Executive Officer of Protecdiv.
“Sandra’s broad leadership experience, including her expertise in financial regulation and oversight at FHFA and FDIC, will be invaluable as we continue to scale Protecdiv’s operations and strengthen our governance framework.
“We’re confident that Sandra’s strategic vision will help us navigate the complex reinsurance landscape and expand our presence in the market,” he added.
In May, the company also announced the appointments of David Castillo as Executive Vice President and National Construction Practice Leader, and Tamika Puckett as Executive Vice President and Public Sector Practice Leader.
As an Independent Director, Thompson will provide strategic oversight, help refine risk management practices, and ensure rigorous regulatory compliance as Protecdiv advances.
“I am excited to join the Board of Protecdiv and to support the company’s strategic objectives,” commented Thompson.
“Protecdiv’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and client-centric solutions aligns with my own professional values. I look forward to contributing to the company’s success and to supporting its continued expansion in the re/insurance brokerage sectors.”
