Chaucer appoints Emily Brand as Deputy Class Underwriter – Energy



Chaucer Group, a global specialty insurance and reinsurance group, has announced the appointment of Emily Brand as Deputy Class Underwriter – Energy.

chaucer Based in Singapore, Brand will report to Scott Ho, who leads Chaucer’s Energy team in the region.

In her new role, Brand will support the underwriting strategy for Chaucer’s energy business and help expand the company’s presence in the APAC energy insurance market.

She brings over 10 years of insurance industry experience, with expertise in the marine and energy classes of business.

Brand joins Chaucer from AEGIS, where she spent the past eight years. She joined in 2017 as an Underwriting Assistant in the marine and energy market, was later promoted to Assistant Underwriter with a primary focus on energy, and most recently served as Energy Underwriter.

Earlier in her career, Brand held positions at Markel and Lloyd’s.

Emily’s experience in the energy market will play a huge role as we look to expand our energy offering across the region. I look forward to welcoming her to the team.”
