Davies enhances risk services in North America as Afirm brand retires

davies-group-logoDavies, a provider of professional services and technology for insurance and regulated markets, has announced two senior leadership appointments and the rebranding of Afirm, known for its premium audit, loss control inspection, and risk mitigation services.

Afirm will now operate under the Davies name as part of its expansion in the US and Canadian markets.

In April 2023, Davies acquired Afirm, which enabled Davies to enhance its specialist and technology-driven audit and loss control services for its over 1,200 clients in the insurance and regulated sectors.

Mark deWaal has been named Head of Premium Audit. He will oversee all premium audit services and manage the Davies office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mark, who started his career in premium audit in 1992, is now part of Davies’ senior leadership team.

Stephen White has been appointed Head of Loss Control. He will lead all field services for residential and commercial loss control inspections and manage the Fort Collins office in Colorado. Stephen has been with the company since May 2007 and brings over 16 years of industry experience.

White has served as President of the Insurance Loss Control Association (ILCA) and as a Board Member and Vice President of the Associated Reporting Companies (ARCO). Both Mark and Stephen will report to Jose Bridges, President of Risk Services at Davies.

Jose commented: “The successful acquisition of Afirm has helped boost Davies’ portfolio within risk services, allowing us to expand our North American offering to include all 50 states and Canada.”

“Following the rebrand from Afirm to Davies and the successful integration, I am confident that Stephen and Mark’s leadership will further strengthen our premium audit and loss control operations for our clients, as we continue to prioritise delivering excellent customer service and high-quality services for both personal and commercial lines.”
