Kova Professions (Kova), a managing general agent (MGA) specialising in Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance, has announced the senior appointments of Celeste Newson as Head of Professional Indemnity and Keeley Patten as Senior Underwriter.

Kova is a newly established UK MGA led by CEO Kate Albert, offering PI insurance solutions to mid-market SMEs across all sectors.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new additions to Kova, Albert stated, “I am pleased to announce the expansion of the Kova Professions team with these two exceptional underwriters.”

She added, “With over 40 years of insurance experience between them, I am confident that their expertise will significantly enhance our capabilities to grow our portfolio and further solidify Kova’s position as a strong player in the professional indemnity market. Between us, we have a strong network of broker relationships upon which we will look to build and expand over the next year.”

Newson joins Kova from Talbot, where she served as a Class Underwriter for Professional Lines and Liability insurance for three years. Prior to that, she worked as an Underwriter at AXA XL and as an Assistant Underwriter at XL Catlin.

Patten brings around 20 years of industry experience to her new role. She joins from AXIS, where she worked for nearly six years as a Senior Medical Malpractice Underwriter. Before that, she held various broker roles in the PI insurance sector at reputable firms such as Lockton, Aon, and Miller.
