International re/insurance broker Consilium, part of the Aventum Group, has announced the appointment of Rori-Leigh Mighty as Partner for its Cayman office.

She will be reporting to Yaremis Hydes, Managing Partner in Consilium Cayman, who joins the business from Aon.

Mighty is joining Consilium with close to two decades of P&C broking experience. Through her career, she spent seven years in Jamaica, handling large commercial risks and Government tenders at two of the largest brokerages, and the last 11 years in Cayman.

She most recently served as a Senior Broker for Bogle Insurance Brokers, a role she held for nine years.

Mighty will be joining Consilium’s Cayman Office. The re/insurer had secured its licence in the territory in 2023. It appointed a local team to lead the operation and that works closely with the team in London to deliver ‘one Consilium’ – an aligned service that puts Cayman clients’ interests first.

Consilium’s focus in the region is providing insurance solutions in the financial and professional lines, construction, residential and commercial property sectors, as well as group medical and ancillary benefits.

“Whilst Consilium generally has a policy of not putting boots on the ground in other territories, we have a unique focus in these international financial centres and offshore jurisdictions – here we uniquely serve clients without conflict with our core broker client base globally,” said Baird.

Whilst its growing economy has created huge opportunity, clients have suffered from a lack of choice, afflicted by consolidation amongst broking firms that has resulted in a limited number of brokers and a restricted pool of capacity.
